RIP RFD?

Well, our shoutcast server subscription expired last month, I had paid for the first year in advance. I had hoped donations would keep the project going after that. This has not happened. Honestly for all the momentum this project had at the start, I expected great things. But a little over 2 years from the initial proposal to start Radio Free Discordia, it seems that we’ve died. We don’t have steady content, listeners, and not a single donation. I can’t afford to keep paying for this all out of my own pocket. So for the time being RFD is dead. I am VERY open to people who want to get involved in the project and try to breathe new life into it. Just email me.

Radio Free Discordia’s been rocking steady for over a month now. The schedule is still somewhat intermittent, but we’re getting better at keeping airtime moving. Generally, the people in #discord will launch a stream if there are listeners.

A few people have contacted us via the web looking for shows. I believe the answer is, yes you can probably have a show. You need to talk to Mourning Star, and the best way to find him is to e-mail him at mourningstar aaaaat rfd.org. He can also be found hovering 500 feet abobve #discord like those weird heads in that crazy move ZARDOZ. You know what I’m talking about? I don’t even know what was going on in that movie, I was watching it at this new years party and I thought I dunno, maybe I was traveling through time. To another year. That’s what I get for partying with Discordians. I started 2009 watching ZARDOZ and now my whole year is screwed up.

We’ve Launched!

Barring some starting jitters, we should be up and running and on schedule. We kicked things off at 1900EST on 1st April with LMNO’s political mix, to a generous handful of listeners.

Also, if you enjoy Radio Free Discordia and would like to participate, please contact us via this thread at PD.COM

We’re open to most any type of audible broadcast, talk, music, dramatic presentation, armpit farts*, etc.

*Armpit farts should be limited to less than 2 1/2 minutes in duration..for the sake of politeness.

Launch Update!

Hey everyone, Mourning Star here to apologize for the delay in our official launch, the last month and a half has been incredibly hectic. I bought a house, and moving and getting things squared away has kept me offline for quite a while. As such, we’ll be pushing the official launch back to April 1st.

Mourning Star sez: Okay. Status update.

I removed the dummy entries from the schedule section on the Radio Free Discordia website.

So if the time slot you’d like is not on the list, it’s available. Please be somewhat specific.

Also, I emailed the people over at 2600 seeking permission to rebroadcast Off The Hook on RFD. Hopefully Emmanuel (or whoever reads those emails) will grant us that permission. If so, we will be broadcasting the previous week’s show, 1 hour prior to the live broadcast of the current week’s show on WBAI (Also simulcast online).

UPDATE: Volt4ire got back to me and said we are free to use OTH for any and all non-commercial purposes.

If anyone is needing more information about this, or you want to get involved but you’re worried it might be too complicated, get in touch with me, it’s actually quite simple with very minimal instruction and configuration.

I want to “Officially” Launch the first week of March. Hopefully I’ll have finished my IRL bzns by then and be available for tech support etc.

Whooha! So finally, after like six or seven months I got back to fixing this site. And not a minute too soon! Because just right around this moment Mourning Star is putting the last screws and bolts into this meat machine broadcasting system (naturally with, instead of speakers, COCKS).

So, look to your left and bathe yourself in the shining beauty of the NOW PLAYING FEATURE, telling you what is NOW PLAYING!

Below that, there’s this wonderful button to DONATE (you fucks). Click it (CLICK IT!! NOW) in order to give Mourning Star all your money, things have never been this easy!

Layout is done

Hi Triplezero here, so I finished the layout of this site.. looks pretty good don’t you think? Thanks to Cramulus’s quick MSPaint head/tagline hacks, I got the idea to make the entire design in WOMP-style. Gotta love that positioned dithered background gradient and the randomized logo

All that’s left for me now is to plug in the “Now Playing” php code, a DONATE! button and some Google analytics code.

Please to notice, most links don’t work, most content is fake, it’s just a mockup of random content until Mourning Star puts the real stuff here.

A few small steps, but I can already say, I’m really happy with the result
